Microsoft Sway

What is Microsoft Sway?
● Microsoft Sway is an app from Microsoft
Office that makes it easy to create and share
interactive reports, personal stories,
presentations, and more.
● With Sway, there’s no need to spend lots of
time on formatting. Its built-in design engine
takes care of making your creation look its
best. If the initial design doesn’t quite match
your taste or mood, you can easily apply
another — or fully customize your layout to
make it your own.
Accessing MS Sway
● To get started with Sway, visit sway.office.com in
any browser and then click Sign in on the top menu
bar.
● When prompted, enter the email address you want to
use with Sway. You can use your free Microsoft
Account (Hotmail, Outlook.com) or any
organizational account given to you by your work or
school. If you don’t already have an account, visit
www.microsoft.com/account to sign up for free.
● On the My Sways page that opens after you’ve
signed in, click or tap Create New to start creating
your first Sway.
Understanding MS Sway
Getting Started

When opening Sway on the “Welcome to Sway” page you’re given three options:
● Create New - Here you can build your own Sway document from the ground up
● Start From a Topic - Here you can give Sway a topic and it will give you different content to start
with as an outline/template
● Start From a Document - Here you can import and open an existing document to begin working on

Storyline

You’re storyline is where you input and arrange your content. This is where the magic happens and you can make
your Sway document your own!!

Finishing Touches/Title

This is where you can review your document, make finishing touches, and add a short and sweet title that explains
what your Sway is about. When you’re done you can choose to play, share, or export your Sway in the document
form of your choice.
