Subject: Additional Information/ Explanation regarding my previous student visa rejection

Dear Sir/ Madam,

I would like to provide the following additional information in support of my application for a
student visa.

I, Sheethal Varghese, applied for student visa for Jan 2020 intake for Health Care Management
from St. Lawrence College, Kingston. Unfortunately my visa application got rejected stating that
-:

“ I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection
216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit”.

“ Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of: your qualifications, previous studies,
missing mark sheets, academic record, level of establishment, language abilities, financial
ability, and/or your future prospects and plans

So I would like to clarify briefly about my qualification, previous studies, missing marks
card, language abilities, financial stability, future plans and purpose of visit.

Qualifications & previous studies: I have completed my BAMS, from a well reputed
college, B.V.V.S College under one of the best universities of India, Rajiv Gandhi University
of health science Bangalore with First Class. After completing my 12 th grade in science
stream, I have opted to study BAMS as I wanted to be a part of Indian health care system.
After my studies I have joined as an employee in Malabar institute. My interpersonal
communication skills and managerial skills were many times appreciated by the
authorities there. Hence I recognized myself that I would be better at administrative level
of jobs, thus decided to do my higher studies in health care administration. Being a
graduate in BAMS I ‘am more exposed to healthcare functions hence it is easy to relate to
the management principles. The planning and co-ordination of healthcare activities can be
done perfectly by a health professional with administration degree than any other
professionals.

To add up, during my graduate studies and internship I was very good at maintaining
patient register, IPD, OPD register and other important documentation in the hospital, so
by doing healthcare administration I can develop these skills in better way. Over this, the
Indian health system is now more focused on a combination of business and health, thus
already being a health professional I would be more benefited if trained in the business
aspects too.

Missing marks card: I have taken a graduate degree in BAMS, which is a 5 ½ years course
that include 4 ½ years studies and 1 year compulsory internship. The 4 ½ years studies is
divided into 3 semesters of 1 ½ years which is called as I professional, II professional and
III professional respectively. So during the whole course of BAMS I underwent only 3
university exams after each professional, thus do posses only 3 marks card. And I have
cleared all the 3 semesters in single attempt itself. The 1 year internship certificate,
passing attempt certificate and all the 3 marks are attached with this letter.

Financial Stability: I belong to a financially stable family in Kerala. My mother is a teacher

in government institute of fashion designing in Kerala, her PF details are attached to this
letter, and my father is a agriculturist and real estate business man with a gross annual
income of Rs.700000. We have our own properties, house rented and Bank accounts in our
hometown which turns around Rs 1, 16, 01,000. My in laws also posses assets worth
2,48,92,700 ,my father in law is a worker at toddy shop and mother-in-law is a social
worker in Shreyas .I am attaching CA valuation Statements as a proof of my claims. My Joint
account with my husband together posses a joint account with almost 4.5 lakh for which I
have attached the proof. I have also already paid 1 st and2nd semester fees and GIC amounts
in Advance.

Language Abilities:

The minimum IELTS score required for my proposed course, health care administration, st
Lawrence College is 6.5 Bands overall with no band less than 6.0 bands. And I have scored
an overall band score of 7.0 with Listening :6.5, Reading : 8, Writing : 6 ,Speaking :
7.0which means that I have met the required IELTS score for my proposed program. This
clearly demonstrates that I have minimum required language abilities to manage my
studies abroad.

Future Prospects and plans: The two year study in health care administration from St.
Lawrence College will help me in evolving as an expert in hospital administrative field. I
choose Canada because it is considered peaceful, safe, orderly country and learning is
encouraged. Being a country of immigrants from all over the world it will also be an
opportunity for me to see and learn the differences in interpersonal, managerial and
business skills. St Lawrence College is one of the best institutions which would certainly
help me in my pursuit in learning various practical concepts of health care administration
and fulfill my ambition. So that I can come back to my sweet home after my studies and get
placed in a better position and there by fulfill my dream.

Purpose of Visit: My purpose of visit to Canada is genuinely for studies. My home town
would not provide such opportunities. The faculties in Canada who would have the
expertise in their field would share the best of their knowledge and practical experience
which would be missing here in India. I would be surrounded with students from across
the globe enhancing my communications skills as well as presentations skills which are
very important to grow ahead. After the completion of the course like all other
international students, I would like to take advantage of the post study work permit to
explore best opportunities and to get the international exposure available in Canada. This
will further enhance my expertise in my career. Having a Canadian work experience is of
high demand across the world. Beyond everything our Indian health system adores
international experience and exposure. In the existing scenario like any other countries
India is also looking for health care administrators who can offer best services in training of
health professionals, maintain hospital records, ensuring compliance with state laws and
regulations and thereby ensuring a better healthcare system.

After my stipulated course I wanted to come back to India because I am a persons who
always try to handle both family life and professional life together, so after the course I
would like to join my family who are already well settled in Kerala. My husband is an
Ayurvedic Practioner in a well reputed hospital in our home town. Over this the demand of
health care administers in India is increasing day by day, many international groups have
already established their hospital in India and thus to run those hospital smoothly they are
looking forward for health professional with international standard. Also The Indian
government these days come up with lots of new ideas and projects to provide healthy
environment especially in hospitals but these are not becoming fruit full due to the lack of
professionals who can manage and administer things smoothly, this gives a wide range of
job opportunities for health care administers. My husband being an Ayurvedic doctor is
interested in a setting up a different concept of uniting ayurveda and tourism, which need a
good practical knowledge in managing and administering.
I have chosen St Lawrence College as a mode to brighten and furnish my theoretical and
practical knowledge and come back to my home country and get best future ahead.

So I kindly request you to reconsider my visa application in the light of the above
mentioned reasons and grant me the permission to pursue for health care administration
from St. Lawrence College.

Thanking you.

Yours faithfully,

Sheethal Varghese
