STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Introduction: I am Nabin Kandel born on 27 August 2002 son of Mr. Arjun Kandel and Mrs. Khem Kumari Kandel and
a permanent resident of Baithuliya, 16 Butwal, Rupandehi. By profession, my father operates a Business called
(Kandel Krishi Farm). Regarding sponsorship, my father (Mr. Arjun Kandel) & grandmother (Mrs. Goma Devi Kandel)
will sponsor me as my father earns income of NRs. 1,574,393.00 by lending a vehicle on rent and from his business.
Also, my grandmother’s total annual income is NRs. 504,000.00 from house rent. However, the total annual income
generated by my family is NRs. 2,078,393.00 (AUD 24,420.070) which will be used for my Australian study purpose.
So, I am assured that I will not have any financial burden till the period, I study and stay in Australia. Regarding my
academic qualification, I have completed my SEE (Secondary Education Examination) in 2019 A.D. from Suddhodhan
English School, Bangaiwith 3.3 GPA. Along with that, I achieved my 10+2 certificate in Management faculty
from Oxford English Boarding Secondary School, Butwal, Rupandehi 3.69 GPA conducted by Higher Secondary
Education Board (HSEB) of Nepal in the year 2021. In order to be grab an international degree I needed to clear the
English proficiency test for which I appeared in PTE Examination on 18 th April 2022 and scored an overall band score
of 53 (L-48, R-57, W-54, S-54).

Intention to Study Accounting: I had this desire to grasp the opportunity to further develop my accounting and
business skills so as to achieve my career aspirations making my educational part strong and to succeed later in the
growing business world. Studying this course will provide a broad base of understanding for a career in business and
accounting with the learning about organizational relationships, critical decision-making, professional skepticism,
self-management, and the importance of communication among stakeholders. Bachelor of Business (Accounting) is a
complete accounting course that has always grabbed my attention and has remained my favorite since college days.
Graduates of the Bachelor of Business (Accounting) will meet the educational entrance requirements of both the
CPA Australia and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ). It is obvious that after completing
Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from MIT, I will be able to evaluate and analyze the impact of business
environment research, technology, and accounting processes on the organizational operation. This is a 3-year
program with 360 credit points and 24 units. There are 10 common core units, 10 major units and 4 electives. Some
of the units are Economic Principles, Business Ethics and Sustainability, Financial Accounting, Human Resource
Development, Company Law, Corporate Accounting, Forensic Accounting, Taxation Law, Auditing, Capstone
project etc. This industry project will help me in getting practical skills, industry exposure in the final year. This
course is accredited by CPA, CA ANZ.

Why not Nepal? I searched for different education institutions that could help me to achieve my career plan in Nepal
e.g. Tribhuvan University (http://www.tribhuvan-university.edu.np/ )- Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS), Pokhara
University (https://pu.edu.np/)- Bachelor of Business Administration–Banking and Insurance, Purbanchal
University(https://puexam.edu.np/ )- Bachelor of Business Administration & my intended course is focused on
accounting which is not offered in any of the above universities. Moreover, what I realized until now is that the
Nepalese study is totally based on the theoretical system rather than focusing on its practical implications. The seats
are very limited which makes the competition very high and even the course is for 4 years. There is just one intake
every year. Therefore, looking after all these aspects I decided not to continue my further study in my home country
Nepal.

Why Australia? In the present world, among many study destinations, the popularity of Australia is immensely
increasing among international students, due to some of the better aspects of the Australian Education System.
Australia also offers a wide range of courses, internships, scholarships, world class education. Moreover, Australia
has a low crime rate and strict gun control laws providing a safe and sound environment for international students.
Australia is the 3rd most popular study destination and the tuition fees and living cost is very affordable.

Why not other countries? After a lot of research and conversation with seniors, I found that the U.S.A, U.K,
Australia, and Canada have been the finest destinations for further study to most overseas students
Based on my research, I have mentioned reasons for not choosing other countries. The admission process of USA is
very lengthy, the living cost as well as fee structure is very expensive day by day and living standard is too high to
maintain. The degree is for 4 years and there are pre-enrollment tests like ACT/SAT. The critical aspect about
studying in Canada is its climatic feature whereas Australia has similar weather like my home country. I did not like
Canada for my higher education due to climate condition also Canadian degree is of four years. UK is the most
preferred countries in the world for education; I did not go for it due to uncertain facilities of immigration, strict visa
policies, and unsuitable climatic conditions for Asian people.

Future Plans: After completing my degree, I will return to my country. I will be graduated as a qualified accountant,
my career opportunities may include public accountant, chartered accountant, company accountant, company
secretary, financial administrator, investment advisor, forensic accountant, in the government (in the tax
department, audit office, treasury and local government), or in financial institutions including banks and building
societies. I am very much delightful regarding my future career through the support of my family member which is
the reason for which I will return back to my home country. After being back, I will be looking forward to start my
professional career in any of the reputed national or international companies as an Accountant like; Khetan Group
(http://www.khetan.com.np/intro.htm), Sharda Group (http://www.shardagroup.com/), Vaidya's Organization
(https://www.vaidya-group.com/) and so on. After working as an Accountant for initial years, I can start working as a
Senior Accountant or Professional Accountant later with proven skills and knowledge in related organizations. Some
of the portals from where I can hunt the job that will fit to my qualification and experience after coming back to
Nepal are: www.kantipurjob.com, www.jobejee.com http://www.sajhajobs.com/. As a fresher I can expect a salary
of around NPR 50,000- 55,000 per month which will gradually increase with my experience. Aside from that, after
working for a decade or two, I may create my own company, offering job chances in my own nation from the
knowledge that I have gained from Australia. I am fully aware of the study & living expenses in Australia. With my
intended promising profession and decent amount of wage, I could easily return my investment in the upcoming 5-6
years which will be invested for my Australian education purpose.

Reasons to return back to my country: I am obliged to return back upon completion of my degree as Business is
growing day-by-day in Nepal and thus, I could have better career opportunities. Even employers prefer professionals
with international degree. Besides that, my family is staying here in Nepal. Being an only son and precious member
of my family, I will have difficulties to live without them for long duration of time. I also have the huge
responsibilities to look after my parents especially in their elderly age. And of course, the property, Business,
Vehicles, and assets of my parents’ worth more than NRs. 4,1258,000.00 are also to be looked after by me.
Therefore, I will come back to my country to stay my whole life within the lovely boundary of my parents by
establishing my future career.

Why Melbourne Institute of Technology? MIT, Australia is among one of the best education providers which is a
tertiary education institute in Australia and was established in the year 1996 offering specialized and accredited
programs. MIT offers better class facilities, friendly and flexible class condition, reputed teachers as well as student
support and career development services. Quality education with proper guidance from a highly skilled teacher
along with better student support also helps to learn more inflexible environment, personal counseling, and support,
monitoring academic detail, study skills workshops and career counseling is also a major factor to study there. Also,
classes are generally small that will help me to interact directly with teachers and get personal attention. Beside
these, my desired course Bachelor of Business (Accounting) where its fee structure is AUD 17,483 annually whereas
fee of other education provider is expensive i.e., shown below:

 Federation University-Bachelor of Professional Accounting-AUD 26,300

 Torrens University - Bachelor of Business - Major in Accounting-AUD 26,760
Living Arrangements in Australia: I have searched several websites like www.bedssi.com, www.rent.com.au,
www.gumtree.com.au, etc. and I am planning to rent a shared apartment as it would be affordable to me. Weekly
rent around these areas is $300-$350 per week including all bills.

I am looking forward to getting a golden opportunity.
