Statement of Purpose

Introduction:
I would like to introduce myself as Dipesh Kumar Ray Tharu a permanent resident of
Jirabhawani-3 Parsa Nepal, born on 11th Oct 2001. I hold a Nepalese Passport numbered
PA1871763 which was issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Department of Passport. I
strongly think that success can only be obtained by hard effort, and I am a hardworking and
inspiring candidate.

I would like to apply to the University of East London to study BA (Hons) Accounting and
Finance. I would want to enhance my qualification and career at the University of East London
in order to achieve my goals, and I am convinced that studying at this International Institution in
the United Kingdom will provide me with the essential chances.

EducationalBackground Work Experience

Talking about my academic qualification, I was always a very good student at my school level. I
passed my Secondary Education Examination (SEE) from South Zone Secondary School where I
scored (3.20 GPA) in 2018 A.D.I have completed my higher secondary (+2) from Birgunj Public
College where I scored (2.40 GPA) in the year 2020 A.D. After that I started working as a
Account Assistant from 1st July 2020 to till date in Narayani Heavy Equipment Construction.
Reason for Choosing the UK:
With the desire to study abroad and obtain an international degree, I began searching for the best
universities online and conducted a through examination of universities in the United States, the
United Kingdom, Australia, and a few European countries. I found the universities in the United
Kingdom to be more suitable in terms of the level of education they provide as well as the living,
food, and other general expenses that I would charge there. It has a long and proud history of
academic excellence being world-famous in the higher education system. Renowned universities
are available in the UK which ensures quality education and secured careers. . It provides a
variety of courses and facilitates qualitative research. The UK offers a comfortable and friendly
environment for international students to facilitate clear understanding and learning.
Additionally, the educational fee is affordable in the UK as compared to other countries.
Likewise, it offers an undergraduate work visa which will be helpful to apply theoretical
knowledge in practical life. A person can achieve a sense of satisfaction when they can get an
area to explore, learn and expand new and existing knowledge and the UK offers this opportunity
to international students. So, for all of these reasons, I have decided to further my education in
the UK.

Reasons for not Choosing Nepal for My Further Study:

Nepal is a developing country and is still lacking in educational areas. Furthermore, my chosen
course BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance is rarely available and its more practical based. The
traditional way of teaching and learning process somehow has put the educational system down
in Nepal. . The lack of accounting and finance specialization-related courses in my home country
led me to choose foreign education and develop my skills in a new environment. The demand for
Professional Financial Planners and Professional Accounting job positions is high in the market
in Nepal and will even rise in the future. The outdated course curriculum and less experienced
tutors are availing in Nepal’s education system. The whole learning duration is completed within
the cycle of attendance, class assignments, home assignment, and written examination only.
Besides this, degree of Nepal is not recognized worldwide. A degree from a foreign university
outweighs a degree from Nepal in terms of recognition and people give more priority to a foreign
degree than a degree from their home country during selection for any post in a well-reputed
organization. Although a lot of private institutions affiliated with the universities in Nepal
offered most of the courses, they still lack effective and efficient practical training with a
shortage of infrastructure and libraries and a scarcity of qualified manpower.

Reason for Choosing the University of East London (UEL):

After doing a lot of research online and other ways, I came to know about some universities that
offer the courses that I am intending to study and found the University of East London (UEL) as
the perfect one. I came across the University of East London (UEL) through my research on
studying in the UK, and I was immediately impressed by its ranking, tuition fees, and courses
offered. UEL is a globally recognized university with over 17,000 students from 135 countries
enrolled. As a careers-led university, UEL is dedicated to supporting international students to
develop the skills, emotional intelligence, and creativity needed to thrive in a constantly
changing world and competitive job market.

other universities in the UK tuition fees are reasonable compared to other universities along with
more possibilities to build the abilities, such as volunteering, work placements, part-time jobs,
offering a library, accommodation, bursaries and/or scholarships, and professional support to
students, and the possibility to become a University representative. UEL has a well-established
teaching method that promotes information and practical skills, preparing students for immediate
challenges and giving them the best possible start in their future careers. It provides a wide range
of academic materials with professionals and highly-trained employees who promise to educate
delivering each supervision to the students. The university is ranked as the 'Best Modern
University in London' by the National Student Survey, 2nd in the UK for Teaching Quality
(Times Higher Education Young University Rankings), and in the world’s top 200 young
universities (Times Higher Education Young University Rankings). UEL students gave the
university an overall satisfaction rating of 85%, meaning it is top in London among its eight
modern universities.
It was the appropriate platform for me for a variety of reasons, including the subject I wish to
follow and the university's quality education. It is a wonderful place that offers one of the safest
and most comfortable places for students and ensures that the students achieve. These are the
reasons I chose the University of East London over other UK universities for my undergraduate
study in BA (Hons) Accounting and finance.

Reason for Choosing BA (Hons) Accounting and finance:

BA (Hons) Accounting and finance has always been a subject of great interest to me, and I have
been fascinated by its concepts and practices. I have gained basic knowledge during my higher
secondary school. However, I feel that a bachelor degree in BA (Hons) Accounting and finance
will provide me with a deeper understanding of the subject and equip me with the skills needed
to excel in the field. The course will help to gain the knowledge, understanding, and key skill set
required by professionals working in diverse local, national, and global organizations. The
course helps me to provide the information, understanding, and vital skills that are demanded by
today's world and to enable me to successfully contribute to dynamic enterprises. This course
would open pathways and doors for me to become a Chartered accountant, Chartered certified
accountant, Chartered management accountant, Chartered public finance accountant, Company
secretary, Actuary, Arbitrator, Data analyst, Economist, Licensed conveyancer, Management
consultant, Procurement manager, Retail banker, Tax adviser. Before choosing a course, the
priority factor is the earnings and similarly, for me, I know that the course of my choice will
assure me of high earnings as it is such a field that is always in demand.

The course modules cover a specific area such as the principles, values, and approaches to
Accounting and finance that help to explore the changing context within which business and
finance operate.

practical knowledge as I could by working in the field of accounting and the financial sector.
Next is that I will return to my homeland. After gaining knowledge and ideas about Finance and
accounting I will have a big opportunity to work in a related field in Nepal after completing my
bachelor’s degree in the United Kingdom. With a UK degree in hand, it won't be hard job for me
to get a job and build a successful career. With an accounting and finance degree, I could easily
get a job in the public or private sectors. Accounting and finance degree holders are highly s
demanded by different business firms, the financial sector, and major employers in the country. I
can work as:
 Financial Manager
 High-End Management Consultant
 Investment Fund Manager
 Marketing Accountant
 Account Manager etc.
in the major companies of Nepal like:

 CG group,
 Nepal Telecom,
 NCELL
or in any government sector. After some years of work experience, I can work start my own
business with the support of my family as they are supporting me in my study. With the growing
experience and network and connections with industrial personnel and experts, I will gradually
give full effort in the field of accounting and finance and also contribute this knowledge and
experience towards the development of the economy of my country. I am looking forward to
achieving my study permit to study BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance at the University of
east London, with the motive to enhance my career.

Conclusion:
In conclusion, I am highly motivated to pursue my Undergraduate in BA (Hons) Accounting and
finance from the University of East London. I am confident that this program will provide me
with the necessary knowledge and skills to achieve my career goals and make an impact in the
field of Accounting and finance in Nepal.
