SIMILE
 It is a comparison of two unrelated
objects with the use of LIKE or AS.
Examples:
 The destroyed houses during the
storm were like trash scattered
around.
 The tide is as high as the mountain.
Other examples:
 Life is like a rollercoaster.
 She runs like lightning.
 You are as cold as ice.
 Her bag is light as a feather.
METAPHOR
 It is a comparison of two unrelated
objects without the use of like or
as.
Examples:
 The recent typhoon was a monster.
Other examples:
 Time is gold.
 You are my sunshine.
 He is a walking dictionary.
