Arturo Rogerio Luz was born on

Philippines and died on May 26, 2021

 He is considered one of the foremost


modernist artists in the Philippines,
renowned for his minimalist style and
geometric abstractions.

Guillermo Estrella Tolentino was born

 He studied at the University of the


Philippines School of Fine Arts and
continued his studies at the Escuela de
Bellas Artes in Madrid, Spain.

Tolentino became known for his skill


in creating realistic and symbolic
sculptures that depicted Filipino
culture, history, and heroes.

One of his most famous works is the "Bonifacio
Monument" (1933) located in Caloocan City, which is
a tribute to the Filipino revolutionary leader, Andrés
Bonifacio.
He also created the "University of the Philippines

served as dean from 1970 to 1978.
