Verbal Communication
Verbal communication is any
communication that uses words to
share information with others.
These words may be both spoken
and written
Types of Verbal Communication
Verbal communication entails the use of
words in delivering the intended message.
The two major forms of verbal
communication include written and oral
communication.
Written Communication
Written communication is the exchange of information,
ideas, or messages through written language in the form
of letters, emails, notes, and more.
Oral Communication
Oral communication is communicating with spoken words. It's a
verbal form of communication where you communicate your
thoughts, present ideas and share information.
Non Verbal Communication
Nonverbal communication means conveying information
without using words.1 This might involve using certain facial
expressions or hand gestures to make a specific point, or it could
involve the use (or non-use) of eye contact, physical proximity,
and other nonverbal cues to get a message across.
Types of Non Verbal Communication
The many different types of nonverbal communication or body language include:
 Facial expressions. The human face is extremely expressive, able to convey
countless emotions without saying a word
 Body movement and posture
 Gestures
 Eye contact
 Touch
 Space
 Voice
