Why Is It A Popular Tourist Attraction?
The Dead Sea is a popular tourist attraction due
the fact that the water has a high Saline level of
34% whilst other seas have an average of 3.5%.
The high salinity of the water means anyone who
enters the water will float. Another reason for its
popularity is the benefits of the mud found in the
Dead Sea, it's said to be good for your skin,
leading many people to wanting to try it.
What Kind Of Destination Is It? What Can
People Do?
The Dead Sea is destination dedicated for
people's leisure. People often visit the Dead Sea
during when its warmer to enjoy the full benefits
of swimming in a sea in which you cant sink.
Tourism for the Dead Sea benefits both Jordans and Israel's (Palestines)
economy.
High amounts of microplastics and rubbish were found in the Dead Sea from
tourists littering, a devastating effect of tourism for the Dead Sea. There isnt
a specified static of where tourists who visit the Dead Sea are from as the
tourists visit Isreal (Palestine) and Jordan, going to the Dead Sea from there.
It is known however that mainly Americans and Italians visit.
Three Positive Impacts Of Tourism
1- Growth in Israel's (Palestines) and Jordans economy. With tourists coming
in and out of the two countries to see the Dead Sea, they often visit other
places in the country, helping build the economy.
2- World Bank gave Israel (Palestine) about 6 billion dollars dedicated for the
Dead Sea. Its preservation and benefits earn it billions of dollars towards its
preservation to ensure its continued for tourists.
3- Employment. Spas and resorts around the Dead Sea have lifeguards and
for the Dead Sea itself. This helps with employment.

Three Negative Impacts Of Tourism
1- Littering by tourists. Tourists visiting the Dead Sea leave behind a lot of
rubbish mostly plastic packaging and wrappers. This damages and harms the
native animals and can harm other visitors swimming in the Dead Sea. There
are about 3 million plastic bags in the Dead Sea according to the minister of
environment of Jordan.
2- Natural habitat loss. The many tourists visiting the Dead Sea and
swimming in it, as well as the large buckets of mud being extracted from the
Dead Sea to accommodate to the tourists who come to enjoy it leaves many
animals losing their habitats and being forced away from where they
originally resided.
3- Loss of natural area. With the ongoing construction of hotels and places
for people to stay, the natural area is cleared out and replaced with buildings,
industrialising a beautiful natural area.

How Can These Negative Impacts Be Managed?
3- Loss of natural area. This can be managed by limiting the amount of area
destroyed to make hotels and other facilities such as shopping malls
