LAC SESSION : FIRST DAY
Gender and Development in
school refers to an approach to
education that recognizes and
addresses the gender-specific
needs, experiences, and
challenges of students,
educators, and the broader
school community. It aims to
promote gender equality,
challenge stereotypes, and
create an inclusive and
supportive learning
environment for all
On September 27, 2023, Kayrilaw teaching staff in the lead of Ms. Danica
Halili (GAD Coordinator), LAC Session was held 3 o’clock in the afternoon at
Kindergarten classroom.
The LAC session starts with a prayer and
checking of attendance. She discussed about
“Gender Sensitivity”. Gender Sensitivity is to
understand and give consideration to socio-
cultural norms and discriminations in order to
acknowledge the different rights, roles &
responsibilities of women and men in the
community and.
the relationships
between them.

Mrs. Melanie
Rios, other
speaker for the
day, talk about “Gender Stereotyping”. It is a
generalized view or preconception about
attributes, or characteristics that are or ought to
be possessed by women and men or the roles
that are or should be performed by men and
women.

LAC SESSION : SECOND DAY
GAD applies gender analysis to
uncover the ways in which men and
women work together, presenting
results in neutral terms of
economics and competence. GAD
focus primarily on two major
frameworks, Gender Roles and
Social Relations Analysis. Gender
role focus on social construction of
identities within the household, it
also reveals the expectations from
‘maleness and femaleness’ in their
relative access to resources
On September 28, 2023, Kayrilaw teaching staff, Ms. Reina Rose Duria lead
the session. LAC Session was held 3 o’clock in the afternoon at Kindergarten
classroom.
The LAC session starts with a prayer and
checking of attendance. She discussed about
“Workplace Gender Equality”. Gender equality is
widely regarded as an important indicator of
development. She point out the importance of
diversity of both male and female.
Mrs. Loida also the speaker of the day tackled
about “Gender Responsive education”. Gender-
responsive education sector planning (GRESP) is
a vehicle for achieving this – identifying gender
barriers within education systems and ensuring
that strategies and policies are in place to
address them through the ESP, along with the
needed resources, oversight and accountability.
Mrs. Mirasol Gerpacio discussed about
“Preventing Gender-Based Violence.”
Preventing gender-based violence is about
keeping girls in school. Empowering women
economically. Using feminist approaches to
tackle gender inequality, including in the
home. Providing women and girls with safe
spaces.

LAC SESSION : THIRD DAY
On September 29, 2023, Kayrilaw teaching staff, Ms. Darica Santuyo as the
master of the program starts with a prayer. LAC Session was held 3 o’clock in
the afternoon at Kindergarten classroom.
Ms. Santuyo are assigned to discuss about
“Gender and Technology”. ONE fundamental way
in which gender is expressed in any society is
through technology. Technical skills and
domains of expertise are divided between and
within the sexes, shaping masculinities and
femininities
Mrs. Agnes Rogador talk about “Community
Engagement for Gender Equality.” Her
discussion aimed at understanding to what
extent and how community engagement
approaches have been able to promote
advancements in gender equality and people’s
empowerment, including changes in gender
relations and roles.
Gender equality prevents violence against women and girls. It's essential for
economic prosperity. Societies that value women and men as equal are safer and
healthier. Gender equality is a human right.

The LAC Session ends with brainstorming about the topic discussed and giving
of certificates for active participation of everyone.
