ANDAMAN AND NICOBAR ISLAND

The Andaman and Nicobar Islands is a union territory of India consisting of 571
islands, of which 37 are inhabited, at the junction of the Bay of Bengal and the
Andaman Sea.[3] The territory is about 150 km (93 mi) north of Aceh in
Indonesia and separated from Thailand and Myanmar by the Andaman Sea.

 CELLULAR JAIL

Cellular Jail. It is also one of the
oldest colonial prisons that are
present in the world.

construction of the jail began and it was
finally completed in the year 1906. Many
renowned freedom fighters were kept in this
jail and they were Batukeshwar Dutta,
Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, and many more.
ROSE ISLAND

- -:>> Island is located just 2 Km East of Port Blair. Once it was the administrative headquarters of the
British Government and now it has turned into an inhabitable and lonely island. The terrible
earthquake in the year 1941 destroyed the island alone.

are still some British buildings and they have been engulfed by Banyan trees. People still come to

 BARTANG ISLAND

~ It is another beautiful island that must be visited

during the trip to Andaman and Nicobar. There are
mud volcanoes and limestone caves present on this
island.

permitted by tourists. Also, take advantage of riding
along the tropical rainforest. You can also be a part

 JOLLY BUOY ISLAND

place in Andaman and Nicobar that can
be included in the day trip. The crystal

ONGE TRIBE

The Onge tribe is one of the

indigenous tribes found in the
Andaman Islands. - The
traditional costume of the
Onge tribe consists of a
simple loincloth made of bark
or leaves, which is tied
around the waist. - Women of
the tribe also wear a skirt
made of bark, leaves, or grass.
 JARAWA TRIBE
The Jarawa tribe is another
indigenous tribe found in the
Andaman Islands. - The
traditional costume of the
Jarawa tribe consists of a
loincloth for men, which is tied
around the waist and extends
down to the knees. - Women
wear a skirt made of leaves or
bark, along with a headband
made of leaves
NICOBARESE TRIBE

The Nicobarese tribe is the largest

indigenous tribe in the Nicobar
Islands. - The traditional costume of
the Nicobarese tribe is colorful and
vibrant. - Men wear a loincloth
made of cloth, which is tied around
the waist. They also wear a
sleeveless shirt made of cloth. -
Women wear a long, wrap-around
skirt called a "sarong" and a blouse
made of cloth. They also adorn
themselves with various accessories
such as necklaces and bracelets.
SHOMPEN TRIBE
The Shompen tribe is one of
the oldest indigenous tribes in
the Andaman and Nicobar
Islands. - The traditional
costume of the Shompen
tribe includes a loincloth
made of bark or leaves, which
is tied around the waist. -
Women wear a skirt made of
bark or leaves, along with a
headband made of leaves.
