 The white-winged guan is a bird


native to Peru and lives in the
Equatorial Dry Forest
ecoregion. However, its habitat
is reduced to a discontinuous
strip of forests that extends
almost parallel to the Andes
Mountains, approximately 120
km long and 5 km wide.
CHARACTERISTICS

 The White-winged Guan is a slender bird that has


black plumage throughout most of the body with
only 8 to 9 white feathers at the ends of the wings,
characteristic which gives rise to its name. A

and females can be differentiated not by their
physical appearance, but by their act, the males
being more protective of their territory and the
