REPUBLIC ACT 10586
The Anti-Drunk and Drugged Driving Act, also referred to as a law, is
designed to protect Filipino citizens against the adverse consequences
of operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
This act also imposes penalties on individuals who drive while
influenced by alcohol, dangerous drugs, or similar substances, and
serves other purposes.

Presumption of guilt
A driver who refuses to take a breathalyzer or drug test is presumed guilty of
driving under the influence.
Lower BAC limit
Motorists who exceed the 0.05% blood alcohol content (BAC) limit
while driving face penalties and suspension of their driver's license.
Comprehensive penalties
Penalties for drunk and drugged driving include fines, imprisonment,
and revocation of the driver's license.
Responsibility of the car owner
Car owners are also liable for allowing a person who is impaired to
operate their vehicle.
