Meaning of Education
🠶 “A day with those kids was an education in patience and
forbearance”.
🠶 It is the process of gaining knowledge.. The process of
training and developing the knowledge, skills, character,
etc. by formal schooling; teaching; training.
🠶 Education is both the act of teaching knowledge to
others, and the act of receiving knowledge from others.
🠶 The act or process of imparting or acquiring general, the
powers of reasoning and judgement, and generally of
preparing oneself or others intellectually for mature life.

Philosophers
🠶 Aristotle – “Education is the creation of a sound mind in a sound body.
🠶 Thus, the aim of education was the welfare of Individuals so as to
bring happiness in their lives.
🠶 Plato – regarded education as a means to achieve justice, both the
individual and social justice.
🠶 Virtue can be obtained through the 3 stages of development of
knowledge:
