Introduction
• Saudi Arabia, officially the Kingdom of
Saudi Arabia (KSA), is a country in
West Asia.
• Fifth-largest country in Asia and the largest
in the Middle East.
• The flag of Saudi
Arabia is entirely
green except for
the central portion
which bears an
Arabic inscription
and a sword in
white.
• The inscription is
the shahada:
"There is no god
but Allah;
Muhammad is the
Messenger of God"
Saudi Arabia
is the only
country with
a coastline
along both
the Red Sea
and the
Persian Gulf

Mecca – Most important city for muslisms
• It’s the birthplace of
the Prophet
Muhammad and the
faith itself.
• Only Muslims are
allowed in the city,
with millions arriving
for the annual Hajj
(pilgrimage) and
umrah.
Medina Medina is celebrated as the place from which
Muhammad established the Muslim community
(ummah) after his flight from Mecca (622 ce) and is
where his body is entombed.

Arabic is the official language of
Saudi Arabia, but English is widely
spoken.
Cuisine
Kabsa - This traditional dish is
a wholesome combination of
rice mixed with meat,
vegetables, potatoes, flavoured
with spices like black pepper,
cloves, cardamom, saffron,
black lime, bay leaves and
nutmeg.
