 The Passport platform, a suggested solution, is an online soft skills enhancement program
designed to promote academic success and work readiness in higher education (Emanual,
2021).

 Research shows that the online platform enhances 12 soft skills by guiding students through
87 activities followed by a self-assessed questionnaire, ensuring a comprehensive method of
skill development (Emanual,2021).

 The Passport online platform, being freely accessible, ensures affordability for a wide range of
students. Its availability round the clock enhances flexibility, accommodating diverse
schedules and learning preferences (Emanual,2021).
 Results have shown that the members of the experimental group who completed all training activities
reported significantly higher scores on all soft skills compared to the control group (Emanual,2021).

 For example, conflict management and teamwork soft skills reveal notable enhancement in their levels
because of the Passport online program’s training for higher education students (Emanual, 2021).

 Moreover, the platform’s success in the improvement of essential soft skills revolving around self-
empowerment and reflection promotes employability enhancement and better chances in the
workplace (Emanual,2021).

 A problem associated with the online platform is that it is self-assessed by students themselves
which could lead to inaccurate results, considering that students are not as qualified to know the
recent high school and workplace requirements.

 In addition, the flexibility offered by the program could lead to reduced student participation and
a lack of commitment to the training program.

 To address the first issue, in addition to the students’ self-assessment, an incorporation of

external assessments or expert evaluations by instructors or employers can enhance the accuracy
and reliability of skills evaluations post training.
 To tackle the second issue, the online platform could be integrated into the curriculum of higher
institutions as a mandatory course involved in the overall GPA. Students have proved to demonstrate
heightened commitment when engaged in programs that impact their overall academic scores
positively.

 Moreover, this issue might be dealt with by the creation of a collaborative environment where
students are able to connect, share their progress, and work together on skill-enhancement activities.
This approach aims to motivate students, fostering increased engagement and active participation in
the program.
