Definition

Definition of a graphic organizer: A visual and graphic display


that depicts the relationships between facts, terms, and or ideas
within a learning task. It also helps teachers show and explain
relationships between content and sub-content and how they
relate to other areas.
Characteristics of Graphic Organizer
1. There is an information or ideas that we want to organize, for
example: Types of Graphic Organizer
2. There is a visual and graphic display in organizing the
information or idea. We may use a kind of map, chart, or
diagram
3. There is a connection between concept, terms and facts. For
example; if we want to share an information about types of
Graphic Organizer we should put kinds of Graphic Organizer
there not Public Notice or any else. Connection can be
description, sequence, compare and contrast, cause and effect,
and problem-solution.

which is going to be presented.

pictures, symbols or words specifically so that the readers will
easily understand the content of an issue or topic

The description of visual presentations is often limited to minimize
the long wordily explanation which will distract the readers.

manner through a visual display.

4. Graphic organizers have multiple uses such as planning,
brainstorming, studying, or summarizing.

Opening

1. Open the learning activity, by greeting the students and do absence,


ask one of the student to lead the prayer.
2. Do the apperception by linking the topic to social and science subject.
Like Geography ( water circle)
3. Tell the students about the goal of the subject
Main Activity
1. Give the students slide about the examples of Graphic Organizer
2. Ask the students whether the have ever seen the examples of the slide/picture
3. Give the chance to the students to ask about the picture.
4. Give the chance to the other students to answer the questions
5. Divide the students into 5 groups based on its type.
6. The students in the group discuss about definition, the social function, generic structure,
language feature on the worksheet.
7. The students in group present what they have discussed and allow the other groups to ask.
8. The students and teacher make summary
Closing
1. The teacher review the material and check the students
understand or not.
2. The teacher and the students make reflection.
3. The teacher gives the students assignment related to the
topic.
4. The teacher asks one of the students to lead the prayer.
