We use the present simple to talk about:

• Something that happens regularly, always or never.

I play football every Sunday.

My sister works from 8 am to 6 pm.
We normally finish work at 5 pm.
She always watches football on TV.

• A fact that is always true.

• We add –s to the end of most verbs:
start  starts/ play  plays
• We add –es if the verb ends in –ch, -ss, -sh or –o
teach  teaches / miss  misses
do  does / go  goes
• If the verb ends in a consonant + -y, we change –y to –i and add –es:
study  studies / carry  carries
• The verb have is irregular:
have  has
