4 Types of mistakes
Important Mistakes
1. Uncorrected mistakes

example. “I’m here for two weeks” has a different meaning from “I’ve been here for two weeks”.

The solution? Focus on correcting one mistake at a time. This is a good way to make steady progress in
English.

2. Embarrassing mistakes

Classic examples in English might be to say “shit” instead of “sheet”; or “bitch” instead of “beach”.

Fortunately, these mistakes are memorable, so you’re likely to pay attention the next time you need to
say the word.

grammar structure for the
something completely different
first few times

Unimportant Mistakes
3. Slips of the tongue

Example : in our mind we want to say cute but the word came out in our mouth is cut.

These mistakes aren’t important – especially if you correct them immediately – because you won’t
normally make them again.

4. Experimental mistakes

For example, my wrong (salahku) = My bad √

This is all fine (as long as you know or someone tells you that it isn’t 100% correct) because it gives you
practice. The next time you use it, you’ll probably get it right!

1. Interlingual errors.
Interlingual errors are linguistic structures in the target language which reflects the basic linguistic structure of the learner.
They reflect the basic linguistic structure of the learner. These errors occur due tointerference from the learner's mother
tongue, for example: This is a book green, no what what.

2. Intralingual errors.
Intralingual errors are deviations of linguistic structures in the target language that do not reflect the learner's language, but
resemble the linguistic structure deviations mademade by children who are learning the target languageas a first language
or are deviations of linguistic structures in the target language target language that arise due to the mutual influence
between elements in the target language(target language) itself, for example: She can dances, I opening my book.
Exercises
Making mistakes in English is good for you!

One of the biggest benefits of making

mistakes is that they help you learn faster.
When you make a mistake, you are forced to
stop and think about what went wrong. This
is when the learning happens. You need to
understand why you made the mistake in
order to avoid making it again in the future.
For example, if you make a grammar
mistake, you need to understand the rule
you broke in order to avoid breaking it again.
By making mistakes, you are actively
engaging with the language, and this is what
leads to real progress.
Making mistakes is an essential part of the
English language learning process, don’t
feel bad about it!

It is pretty much unavoidable and actually good for

you! They help you to learn faster, build confidence,
understand the language better, and become more
creative. So, the next time you make a mistake, don’t
worry about it. Instead, embrace it, and use it as an
opportunity to become a better English speaker.
