capital

Tirana
Albanian pronunciation: [tiˈɾana];
Gheg Albanian: Tirona) is the capital and
largest city of Albania. It is located in the
centre of the country, enclosed by mountains
and hills with Dajti rising to the east and a
slight valley to the northwest overlooking
the Adriatic Sea in the distance. Due to its
location at the Plain of Tirana and the close
proximity to the Mediterranean Sea, the city
is particularly influenced by a
Mediterranean seasonal climate. It is among
the wettest and sunniest cities in Europe,
with 2,544 hours of sun per year.

considerată legea fundamentală în statul

imposibil un regim dictatorial de oricare tip.

One of the most famous habits of

Albanians is "xhiro" - walking in the
evening This tradition involves meeting a
relative and having a conversation or
discussing problems on foot, in an area
specially designed for this, such as a
boulevard, a pedestrian area, etc. Every city
in Albania has at least one area suitable for
xhiro, which, why not admit it, is as useful
as possible for body, mind and soul 🙂

tourist attractions
Located in the Southwest of the country, Vlorë is the second largest port city
in Albania, after Durrës. We chose this resort as accommodation for the 8 days
we spent on the Albanian lands. Located on the border of the two seas, Vlorë
surprised us with contrasting landscapes. We encountered both sandy beaches
and rocky coves. Famous for its olive trees, the resort of Vlorë attracts like a
magnet tourists from all over the world, thanks to the variety of its cultural-
historical objectives. Since Antiquity, the city represented one of the most
important Albanian ports, bearing the name of Aulona. The most important
historical event of the city is the declaration of independence of Albania, more
than 100 years ago. Today, there is a defining monument to this historical
moment.
Hiking Theth towards Valbona
The hike between Theth and Valbona,
part of the famous "Peak of the
Balkans" route, is one of the main
reasons why backpackers come to
Albania. It is a charming route, with a
park distance of almost 18 km. I
managed to do this route in 7 hours,
with breaks for meals, beer and
photo/video.This route is a special
adventure and a unique experience. It
can be traveled from two directions.
Please don't ask me which direction is
better because I don't know the answer.
I heard divided opinions. To get to
Theth, you have to come from
Shkoder. The distance is 75 km and it
takes no more than 2 hours by car.
