INTRODATION

my internship report that take place in Bench Sheko Zone Construction office which I is
multi-disciplinary Consulting government sector, a reputation for responsive,
innovative yet practical design approaches to complex Architectural & Engineering
problems. Through our experience and dedication to the construction industry. Bench
Sheko Zone Construction Dept. is committed to provide with the most professional,
efficient and cost effective consultancy services. Our goal is to satisfy the most
demanding construction needs in Bench Sheko zone.
OBJECTIVE OF THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
GENERAL OBJECTIVE
OF THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
One of the main objective of an internship is to expose me to a particular job by my
profession in a company. I might have an idea about what a job is like, I won’t know
until I actually perform it if it’s what I thought it was, if I have the training and skills
to do it and if it’s something I like.
Assists me to develop employer-valued skills such as team work, communications and
attention to detail. Also expose me to the environment and expectations of
performance in the construction in private or public companies or government
entities.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE

To make the student gain future employment - if the student is very active which means
accomplishes every task he or she is assigned on time and also if the student has a
good behavior that means the student may have a good chance of employed in that
company after graduates.
Being an intern gives you more opportunities to build connections with company
professionals that can be very beneficial for your future career.
To develop and increase self-confidence of the student - this internship program main
objective is to increase the student’s confidence. Before the internship the students
have theoretical knowledge only this makes them to have low confidence in their
potential. But after they gain more practical knowledge in the internship it makes
them gain more confidence in their potential.
BACKGROUND
Bench Sheko Zone Construction office is an architectural & engineering Dept. providing
design, supervision, consultancy and project management services and engineering
solution for various categories of zonal Projects. With a core staff strength of all
professionals in affiliated engineering department, and the use of the most recent
information technology in the production of contract information, the department has
over the years acquired a thorough capability to execute medium to large scale project
from feasibility through design and contract administration to completion and project
administration.
Bench Sheko Zone Construction office is a dynamic organization of innovative
professionals who share a common goal to render the best and most effective services
to the demanding construction industry, which is sensitive to both cost containment
and service levels.

ACTIVITIES IN THE SITE

Site work is a work which is performed on the site and construction carried out by four
body’s there is the supervisor, site Engineer, the Forman’s and the labourers. Site is a
place where materials and equipment are integrated by skilled labours to construct the
intended structure, every single task in the site should have a large precision &
quality.
SITE SUPERVISION

It is the process of making decision in the work execution and checking whether the work
is performed as per the design drawing and specifications. The supervision works that
I have been executed includes:
 Checking the precisions of formworks, checking their horizontal and vertical
alignment.
 Generally quality controls in construction materials like; - concrete ingredients
(cement, sand, aggregate & water), equipment/machineries used.
 Checking the dimension of slab, beam, stair, and column.
 Checking the number of reinforcement bar placed on beam, column, stairs, stirrups and
slab.
 Checking the reinforcement bars bended by bar benders for beam, stair, slab and
stirrups. Structural elements in site that I have been engaged to work with.
OVERALL BENEFITS GAINED FROM INTERNSHIP
Internship program in many cases, sell themselves as a quality place for students to begin
their careers after they graduate. While I participate in this internship I expect that
only practical and theoretical knowledge will be gained in the internship but after
completing of the internship I was able to realize that I got so many benefits. The
major benefits I got from the internship are classified and stated as below briefly
I tried to had experience and learn every work as much as I can. . I tried to learn every
aspects of the work both technical and non-technical terms.
These are:
 What I learn regarding the building design in the office most of the designs must first
be functional, simple and modern and most importantly to make the design
economical as possible by relating each work to its cost.
 Improved my ability of understanding and reading working drawings.
THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE
Internship program gives me the opportunity to apply my theoretical knowledge in real
world environments The most things that I get through internship program was the
knowledge how I can interpret the theoretical part to the practical ones.
TEAM PLAYING SKILLS
Even if tasks are done individuals by the respective person at different section of
company, there are times at which different individuals come together to work for
common goals of the company for increasing productivity.

 I improve how can I used individual knowledge to the benefit of the work
 I get the way how to meet the company schedule by using the team.
 Knowledge on the modification of design.
 To facing site challenges.
LEADERSHIP SKILL
What I gain from the internship regarding improving leadership is that to inspire workers
into higher levels of teamwork, there are certain things must be known to do that,
these are;

I think it would be fair to say the internship program has been a helpful experience in
exposing us to the real engineering work. It can also be categorized as an exciting
event depending upon how exited one really is to put his theoretical knowledge in to
practice. I was also trying to inter relate the thing I have been learning for the past 4
years with the things saw in the site and office. It had ups and downs but in the end it
left me with knowledge that I wouldn’t acquire if I spent the time learning in the
University. Without this internship program graduating in architecture and actually
being a professional would have been difficult. This intern program showed me that I
