Goals: Time
Management
PAPER BOAT
⦁ Material Needed: Newspaper
⦁ Divide your group into teams of 4 to
5 members each. Ask them to
select/elect a Team Leader.

⦁ Make 40 small boats out of the newspaper. You
are given 8-10 minutes to complete the task.
⦁ Note: All boats should be of the same size and
must stand or should not sink flat when the
activity is over. The group which can produce
the best quality and of highest quantity boats
will get the highest score.

Rubrics:
⦁ 40 boats - 100 points
⦁ 38-39 boats - 95 points
⦁ 36-37 - 90 points
⦁ 34-35 - 85 points
⦁ 33 below - 80 points

Debrief
1. Did the Team Leader clarify the goal to the
team members? Did the members allocate time
to complete each task?
2. Where the roles clarified the team as to who
will do what?
3. Did the team members get overwhelmed by the
activity or understood the importance of time
management?

4. How did students apply the time
management in their activity?
5. Was there any planning for the use of
Newspaper, people and the time available?
6. How can they relate “boat making” to
“accomplishing tasks” in school?

Journal Writing:
⦁ A schedule or a timetable is a basic time
management tool which consists of a list of
time of possible tasks or events intended to
happen. Make your own study timetable on
your way to earning your degree.
