TARGET TRAINING

All employees working at site are expected to know the Hazards and risk
involved with Human Machine Interface.

4. The operator know his role and responsibelity and the
accountability
5. Signalman & flagman know his role and responsibelity and the
accountability

BEFORE START WORK

 Signalman and equipment


operators will have specific safety
training regarding vehicle/
equipment movement procedure
to ensure same understanding
and clear communication

 Sufficient/ competent supervision


shall be provided and the
arrangement shall be reviewed as
required to allow effective safe
operation.

 Each of the work area shall be assessed and the control


arrangement shall be designed and planned carefully.
BEFORE START WORK

 Flagman will be
assigned to control the
traffic at the point
where the interface
between equipment
and pedestrian or
other equipment
/vehicle can not be
avoided
BEFORE START WORK

 The execution plan for the equipment shall be reviewed


and communicated among the operator and signalman
prior to the execution.
HEAVY EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENT

 Back-up alarms
(beepers) on
equipment
 Flashing (lights)

equipment/Vehicle
FLAGMAN GEARS

 High visibility vests are


mandatory for signalman.
High visibility flag shall be
attached to the signalman at
a height about 2.5 - 3 m. A
whistle shall also be
provided
WHEN OPERATION

 Movement of equipment's fully


controlled by Signalman
 Equipment operation shall be
stopped if there is any personnel
other than signalman is required
to enter the heavy equipment
working zone.
WHEN OPERATION

 Equipment operator and signalman shall not be


permitted to use a mobile phone during equipment
operation.
WHEN OPERATION

 Do not enter equipment exclusion Zone.


 Report to signalman and seek permission, if you have
any requirement to enter the restricted zone
CONSEQUENCE

 No equipment operation without


signalman. Operator shall only move
with the instruction from the
signalman. Failure of operator to
adhere to this rule will result in
disciplinary action which can lead to
dismissal without previous warning.
