⮚Solution to the problem of drunk driving, which is a major cause of road accidents
and fatalities worldwide, is proposed. Existing solutions such as breathalyzers can be
cumbersome and difficult to use, especially in situations where the driver is already on
the road. Additionally, traditional methods do not provide real-time monitoring and
may not detect low levels of alcohol that can still impair driving ability.
⮚Need for a more sophisticated and integrated solution that can accurately detect
alcohol levels and prevent drunk driving in real-time is identified and attempt to get it
fulfilled with the proposed model.

Methodology
⮚For the prevention of the accident firstly they are to be detected. Firstly, making using of
sensors like Alcohol sensor (MQ-3) for sensing the alcohol levels of the driver and block the
ignition taking place in the first place, if it is above the permissible limit.

⮚Accelerometer (ADXL335) and Vibration sensor (BE-000921) for detecting movement or

vibrations. It calculates the difference in speed or velocity over time. The user can typically
detect whether an object is moving uphill or over is put to use.

⮚If any of the above specified things take place an alert given by buzzing sound immediately
activates and the location of the accident site is sent to the specified contacts and emergency
services for the rescue using GPS and GSM Modules.

Alcohol Sensor(MQ-3)
⮚ The presence of alcohol in the breath is detected

by an alcohol sensor.

⮚ Power Supply- 150 mV to 5V

⮚ Sensing Range- 0.04 mg/L to 4 mg/L

⮚ Temp. Sensing Range- 10F to 50F MQ-3 Sensor

Accelerometer
⮚ The accelerometer is used to measure acceleration forces.

It calculates the difference in speed or velocity over time. The user

can typically detect whether an object is moving uphill or over, or if

it tilts, whether it is moving horizontally or downward, by utilizing

an accelerometer.

GPS and GSM Module
⮚ GPS is used to navigate a location based on latitude
and longitude and is used for continuous tracking of
a vehicle.

⮚ GSM Module: Global System for Mobile

Communication is the abbreviated form. It is a
module that is built for sending SMS wirelessly.

How Connections are Made?

STEPS PERFORMED:
1.All the sensor wires are attached to the Arduino board in the first step. The power supply is also
connected to a relay module.
2.The car battery is connected to the same relay module wire, this sole purpose is for stoppage of
ignition when the alcohol is detected and can be turned on using a switch if the driver wishes to
drive.
3.The vibration is made to resemble an accident and when detected the longitude and latitude of the
current location (google maps) are sent as the message for the specified contacts is sent as message
with the specification of ACCIDENT DETECTED
