INFORMAL

DEBATE
• Each team is composed 8-9 members (3
speakers, 4 researchers, and 2 scribes.)
• The speakers will prepare for their speeches
ahead of the performance. The researchers
will research about their assigned topic. The
scribes take down notes during the debate.
• Every member is allowed to ask one
question for the opponent team during the
interpellation.
• Avoid disrespectful words during the
debate.
• Use English language only.
CRITERIA FOR JUDGING

• Evidence-25%
• Delivery-30%

• Interpellation-30%

• Rebuttal-15%
DEBATE SEQUENCE
• First affirmative speaker’s speech
• First negative speaker’s interpellation
• First negative speaker’s speech
• First affirmative speaker’s interpellation
(2nd speakers and 3rd speakers will follow)
• First negative speaker’s rebuttal speech
• First affirmative speaker’s rebuttal speech
DEBATE TIME FORMAT
• Constructive Speech: 5 to 7 minutes only
• Interpellation: 5 minutes only
• Rebuttal speech: 3 minutes only
