Search engines
• A program that searches for and identifies items in a
database that correspond to keywords or characters
specified by the user, used especially for finding particular
sites on the World Wide Web.
• Computer software used to search data (such as text or
a database) for specified information also : a site on the
World Wide Web that uses such software to locate key
words in other sites.
