Sarod (an musical instrument of the state)

The sarod is a musical instrument that is smaller than the


sitar . It has a metal finger board with no frets . The strings
of sarod are plucked with a pick made of coconut shell.

This instrument is mainly used in classical indian


music and is known for its deep sound which contrasts
with the sound of the sitar .
Madal(an musical instrument of
the state )
The madal has a cylindrical body
with a slight bulge larger than
the other.
Tala(an musical instrument of
the state)
in its simplest form , it consists of a pair of
small hand cymbal . The word taal come from
the sanskrit word tala.
Bampathyut (an musical instrument of
the state)
Bampathyut is a wind instrument of sikkim . A bird
– shape whistle made of bamboo. This instrument is
mainly used in the jungle for signalling
