FOURTH-GENERATION WIRELESS
4G IS THE SHORT NAME FOR FOURTH-

4G GENERATION WIRELESS, THE STAGE OF

BROADBAND MOBILE
COMMUNICATIONS THAT SUPERSEDES
3G (THIRD-GENERATION WIRELESS)
AND IS THE PREDECESSOR OF 5G
(FIFTH-GENERATION
4G LTE
Long Term Evolution
 LTE stands for Long Term Evolution and is sometimes referred to as 4G LTE. It’s a standard for
wireless data transmission that allows you to download your favorite music, websites, and video
really fast—much faster than you could with the previous technology, 3G. Play video.
Is 4G AND 4G LTE THE SAME?

So what’s the difference between 4G and LTE, and is 4G or LTE better? In short, 4G offers a
much faster speed, more stability and access to a larger variety of online activities. LTE is a
half-point between 3G and 4G, so its performance suffers compared to the fourth generation.
Features of 4G

Support for interactive multimedia, voice, streaming video, Internet, and other broadband
services
 IP based mobile system
 Better download speed.
 Extremely high voice quality.
 Easy access to Internet, IM, social networks, streaming media, video calling.
 Higher bandwidth.
 Much faster than 3G.
Tight network security.
High usability: any time, anywhere and any with technology.
Support for multimedia services low transmission cost.
 Low cost per bit.
Disadvantages of 4G

The battery uses is more.

Hard to implement.
Need complected hardware.
It needed to avail services of 4G technology.
The equipment required for a next-generation network is still very expensive.
The network has more problem has security issues.
 Not many areas of 4G services yet.
