 Population, Geography and Government

• Population--> There are about 10 million habitants in this country.

• Geography--> The geography is described by a tipical tropical Oceania located on the edge of
the Pacific Ocean.
• Government--> The politics take place in a framework of a parliamentary representative
democratic multi-party system where the prime minister is the head of government. It is an
independent commonwealth realm, meaning that it is a sovereign state whose monarch is
shared among other realms
 Cultural Aspects, Languages and Stereotypes

• Cultural Aspects--> Foods like Kokoda Fish, Kakau, Chicken Pot. For the tradition festivals
we have Mask Festival, Hagen Show and Enga show.
• Languages--> The existant languages are: hiri mutu, tok pisin and several indigenous
languages: 851 to be exact
• Stereotypes--> The single most common stereotype is the impression that cannibalism and
headhunting is still practiced in the country. This is not true in the current age so you really
have to clarify this explicitly.
 • Landmarks--> Turnbull War Memorial Park:
The park commemorates the Allied soldiers
who fought in the Alotau area. Bomana War
Cemetery: During ww2 just out from Port
Moresby 3,826 servicemen who fought are
buried in this beautiful resting place. Port
Moresby Mosque: Is a place of worship to
muslums all around the world.

hundreds of ethnic groups indigenous to the
region. Tribal living remains a major element

population resides in urban areas.
