Origami?

The Japanese art of


folding paper
into decorative
shapes and figures.
What is the origin of Origami?
• Although the true origin of Origami is unknown, it is still a continued
art to this day.

• Believed to have come from China.

• Dated back to the 6th century.

• Where it came from is still debated to this day.

• Roots trace from China, Japan and even Germany!


Why do we do Origami?
• Earliest records of origami indicate that it was used primarily
for religious or ceremonial reasons.

• Used for decorative and creative art pieces.

• Can be used for mathematic reasons to teach basic shaped and principals
of geometry.

• Can reduce stress, boost creativity and patience.
