THE LITTLE
PRINCE
• The Little Prince is a short story by the
French author Antoine de Saint-
Exupéry, which tells the tale of a little
prince who sets off from his asteroid on a
journey through the universe, in which
he discovers the strange way adults see
life and comes to understand the value of
love and friendship.
WHY THIS • I chose this book because it left an impact on me when I
first read it when I was younger and it showed me what are

BOOK? the most valuable things in life:

• Friendships are some of the most special things that exist,
there are many types of friendships but each one is
important in its own way.
• There are more important things than the material, the most
valuable things in life are our experiences and opportunities.
• Being an adult is not a reason to stop dreaming and
everything we do in this life matters and has consequences.
• Although it was considered more of a children's book due to
its simple and direct style, its deep character and his
reflections on life, society and love make it a story that
could be interesting to everyone.
SUMMARY
• In The Little Prince, a pilot crashes in the desert
and he meets a little prince from another planet.
• The prince has traveled from planet to planet,
meeting adults who value things like authority,
ownership, and praise.
• On Earth, the prince met a fox who explained the
value of friendship.
• The prince returns to his own tiny planet to care for
his special rose.
• The pilot is deeply impacted by their meeting and
writes about it six years later.
THE
MESSAGE
• The message of The Little Prince is that
what is most important is not what can be
seen, but what is given value through love,
time, and effort. The book explores the
differences between children and adults,
noting that children are better at seeing
beauty and value in simple, important
things like flowers.
CHARACTERS
• The little prince is the main character. He
lives on an asteroid, which he leaves to
travel the universe in search of a friend.
• The pilot is the narrator of the story. He
meets the little prince when his plane
breaks down in the middle of the Sahara
desert.
• The fox is the first friend the prince meets
on his journey.
• The flower is the object of the prince's
love.
