A PRINCE WHO DOESN´T LIKE ADULTS

Have you ever read a book with hidden philosophical themes and it is written both for kids and
adults? No? Then The Little Prince is for you!

This novel is written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. It's a story of friendship overcoming loneliness,
responsibility, love, and how to trust others. The idea of this book is that adults always want to
know the facts and often forget about their feelings. Therefore, they can´t understand children
with their creative fantasies.

One of the main heroes Little Prince lives on the asteroid B-612 and is engaged in everyday affairs
there: he watches three volcanoes and looks after the beautiful Rose. He loves Rosa, but she
seemed rude and cruel to him. She doesn´t know how to express her feelings. Soon, the Little
Prince began to feel very lonely and unhappy, so he decided to go on a trip to other planets.
Traveling through other asteroids in the neighborhood, the Little Prince meets rather strange
people who live alone: the King, the Ambitious, the Drunkard, the Business Man, the Lamplighter,
and the Geographer. The boy did not like all these people, they were indifferent, callous, and
greedy, and their life seemed to him boring, monotonous, and empty. These people represent the
adult world.

Then the Little Prince flies to planet Earth as the Geographer advised him. Unlike tiny asteroids,
the Earth surprised him with its size and variety in everything. He hopes to learn a lot here. But,
as it turned out later, people on Earth are not much different from those whom he met earlier.
And only the Pilot, the Fox, and the Snake liked the boy.

Another main hero that I´ve already mentioned is a Pilot who wanted to be a painter is an auto
characteristic of the author. He is a lonely, misunderstood person whose look at the world
changes when he meets Little Prince. The pilot, being a romantic, proved to the boy that not all
adults have lost the ability to believe in miracles. Fox taught him friendship, and responsibility,
and showed how important it is to value and protect loved ones. The Wise Snake explained that it
is necessary to help each other in life.

This part of the story takes place in the Sahara desert for eight days where the pilot meets a little
prince who came to Earth from his planet B612. For eight days the prince recognizes Earth and
met different beings. The story ends after eight days of knowing Earth when the Little Prince
returns to his small planet.

All in all, this book is a masterpiece. I loved it. The author even put his pictures in it and there
were many ideas, and thoughts that I liked. I would recommend this book to everyone. What
might be difficult for kids is to understand the hidden philosophical themes, but the story is
beautifully written and the main idea of this story is how important it, as an adult, is not to lose
the ability to look at life like a child, you need to enjoy simple things and be pure, naive and
trusting, like Little Prince.
