Industrial Engineering:- It is the Engineering approach to
the detailed analysis of use and cost of resources in an
organization.
The resources means Man, Machine, Material, Money.
The industrial Engineer carryout such analysis in order to
achieve objectives ( to increase productivity or profit etc.)
and policies of the organization.
MANAGEMENT
Management is the attainment of organizational goals in an
effective and efficient manner through planning, organizing,
staffing, directing and controlling organizational resources.
Organizational resources include man(human beings), money,
machines and materials.
Management can be defined as all the activities and tasks
undertaken by one or more persons for the purpose of planning
and controlling the activities of others in order to achieve an
objective or complete an activity that could not be achieved by
the others acting independently.
Management is the process of designing and maintaining an
environment in which individuals, working together in groups,
accomplish efficiently selected aims.
Management refers to the process of coordinating and
integrating work activities so that they’re completed efficiently
and effectively with and through other people.
1.The process refers to the ongoing functions or primary
activities engaged in by managers.
2.Coordinating others work activities is what distinguishes a
manager’s job from a non-managerial one.
3.Efficiency is getting the most output from the least amount
of inputs, the goal of which is to minimize resource costs.
4.Effectiveness is completing activities so that
organizational goals are attained; often described as “doing the
right things.”

Henry Fayol: To manage is to forecast and to plan, to organize,
to command, to coordinate and to control.
Ralph Davis: Management is the function of executive

George Terry: Management is a distinct process consisting of
planning, organizing, actuating and controlling performed to
determine and accomplish the predetermined objectives by the
use of people and resources.
