EARTHQUAKE SAFETY
EARTHQUAKE?
An Earthquake is the result of a sudden release of
energy in the earth’s crust that create a seismic
waves.
Types of earthquake:
• Volcanic
• Tectonic
Earthquakes are cause by faulting, a sudden
lateral or vertical movement of rock along a
rupture surface
DURING AN EARTHQUAKE
1. Keep calm
2. Press the alarm
3. Identify surrounding hazards
4. DUCK, COVER & HOLD
5. Evacuate the building
EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM
The Emergency Response Team (ERT) is a group of trained TMs
created by the Safety and Health committee to function as on-site first
responders in case of an emergency situation such as fire, earthquake,
flood and bomb threat.
The Safety Officer, and the most senior committee member,
serve as ERT team leaders to ensure that the team is equipped with the
necessary seminars and trainings, for them to effectively carry out their
functions.
The Safety Officer ensures that the emergency equipment of the
dealership are functional and regularly inspected.
The ERT is also composed of various groups classified per
emergency situation.
Composition of ERT

1. First Aid Team


- The team is responsible in providing injured TMs and customers
with medical assistance, through first aid, during an emergency situation.
The team must also stabilize TMs’ injury and assist them upon transport
to the nearest hospital, if necessary.
2. Rescue Team
- The team locates and quickly moves injured, wounded or
disabled TMs or customers in a safe area for a possible first aid. The team
must ‘search and move’ these victims in the quickest time possible
without aggravating their injuries.

3. Firefighting Team
- The team is responsible in utilizing all fire suppression
equipment in dealing with small or big fire emergency crisis. The team
must necessarily locate and put out any fire in the company at the
quickest time possible, with the use of fire extinguishers or water units.
Composition of ERT

4. Crowd Control Team


- The team evacuates mass number of TMs and customers by
guiding them in leaving to a safe place to avoid injuries and casualties in
case of an emergency situation. The team maintains an emergency traffic
scheme and an evacuation map for a systematic evacuation.
5. Salvage Team
- The team is responsible for rescuing all valuable equipment,
documents and items of the dealership in case of emergency situations.

6. Communication Team

- The team is responsible in communicating with the Fire Bureau


and other third party ERT. (in TMA; it’s the Security Personnel)
