Router and Switch Features
Router 4300 Series (CISCO 4321)

Download putty.exe from https://www.putty.org/ (depending on your
computer).

If it is 64-bit download

Router and Switch Console Connection– Physical Device
Connect your console cable at your Router and computer (make sure
the console light is blinking).

Go to Device manager to see the COM port number of your console
cable (here is USB Serial port).

Open Putty.exe program and select the Serial on the connection type,
then specify the COM port number you on the device manager.

Click open, you can
start configuring your
Router.

Drag Router 4321 to the working space.

Drag PC/Laptop to the working space

Connect the Router and Laptop with the console cable (console port
in router and RS 232 in PC/Laptop)

Double click on the
PC/Laptop and select the
Desktop Tab, then open the
Terminal.

Put NO to the initial
configuration.

Configure Directly from
the Router:
Drag Router 4321 to the
working space.
Double click the router,
from the pop-up select
config tab to configure the
router using GUI.

Drag Router 4321 to the
working space.
Double click the router,
from the pop-up select CLI to
configure the router from
the command line interface.
