- Concept:
CONCEPT AND ORIGIN
+ Mid-Autumn Festival or the full
moon day of the eighth lunar
month, this is the brightest and
most beautiful moon day.
+ Mid-Autumn Festival also has
many other names: Moon
Festival, Children's Festival,
Reunion Festival...

- Origin: The origin of Mid-


Autumn Festival in Vietnam is
said to originate from Chinese
culture with 3 legends: Hang Nga
and Hau Nghe, Duong King Minh
Hoang ascending to the moon,
and the Legend of Uncle Cuoi.
- Dish:
2. Characteristic
+ Mooncakes are an indispensable dish
during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Mooncakes are a type of cake commonly
eaten during the Mid-Autumn Festival
that originates from China
+ The simple Mid-Autumn five-fruit tray
includes 5 types of fruit, symbolizing
Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth. A
simple display of five Mid-Autumn fruit
trays is a need of many families during the
Tet reunion.
- Folk games: Mid-Autumn Festival
is suitable to participate in folk
games such as dragon and snake
climbing into the clouds, rice bag
jumping, cat chasing mouse,
blindfolded duck catching, eye-
catching pot smashing, and many
other games.
3. Activities during the Mid-Autumn Festival
- The first is the lantern procession festival. In
some rural areas, people organize a lantern
procession, allowing children to carry lanterns
throughout the village.

- Next come the lion dance performance. The


young men will form a line, wearing unicorn
heads and bodies. Normally, lion dances are
held on the nights of the 14th, 15th, and 16th.

- During the Mid-Autumn Festival, people


also set out a large tray of feast. The Mid-
Autumn tray is decorated with lots of fruits,
candies, sticky cake and pies

-In addition, people often have the habit of


giving to each other during the Mid-Autumn.
Gifts here are sticky rice cakes, pies and small
lanterns.
4.The meaning of Mid-Autumn Festival
- It is also opportunity for family - First of all, this is a festival
and loves ones to gather together for children to have fun,
and becom mor emotionally participate and not forget the

to us as well as the children because the moon
night is very beautiful, big and bright. This is

only get to play together but also sit together and
hold a moon viewing ceremony, sharing each
piece of candy sweet. Every year, the full moon
night is always the night we look forward to the
most.
