The Dreamweaver Interface
Customizing the Document Window
1. Click to open panels. The panels open. You can click again to close the
panels.
2. Click the arrow in the Property Inspector. The property Inspector expands
to reveal additional options for any selected image or element.
3. Click Split.
The Document window splits to display both the code and Design views.
When you select an element in one view, it is highlighted in the other
view, thus making it easy to find formatting tags.
You can hide the Code view by clicking Design.
You can click Code to view just the HTML code.
Formatting Content with the Property
Inspector : Format Image
1. Click to select image. The image properties appear. You can change
many image properties in the Property Inspector, such as
dimensions, filename, and alignment.
2. To wrap the text around the image, click on Align drop down arrow
and select an alignment.
3. Select on Left. The text automatically wraps around the image
according to the selected alignment.
4. Click and drag to select text.
The text properties appear.
Format Text
1. With the text selected, Click the Font.
2. Click the Times New Roman, Times, Serif.
These fonts are easy to read on a computer screen and are installed in most
computers so the page will display for the user as it does for the designer.
Your text automatically changes to reflect your formatting choices in the
Property Inspector.
You can change many text properties in the Property Inspector, such as format,
size and alignment.
You can click to switch between standard and expanded modes for the Property
Inspector.
Adding an E-Mail Link from the Insert
Panel
1. Click the common tab.
2. Click and drag to select text.
3. Click the e-mail link button.
The Email Link dialog box appears.
4. Type an e-mail address.
5. Click OK.
Opening a Panel
1. Click Window.
2. Click Files. The Files panel appears and displays all of the files in the
Web site.
3. Click the Assets tab. The Assets panel appears.
4. Click the Images button. All the available images in the site appear in
the assets panel.
5. Click any image filename to preview the image in the display area at
the top of the Assets Panel
6. Click the files panel to close the files panel. The Files and Assets
panels collapse. You can click to expand to any panel.
