Introduction

 Ministry of science and higher education started to

implement a new education road map since 2012 E.C.

 The main objective of the road map is cultivating

professionals, who are equipped with ethics and different

skills like thinking and decision making skill in addition to

knowledge acquired on subject matter.

The new education road map contains additional common

course like critical thinking skill, emerging technologies,

history of Ethiopia, and the horn, entrepreneurship , social

anthropology and for students who learn in higher institution

Up on implementation of this road map it could be

supported by strategic plan as a guide to achieve the

objectives expected at the end.

 Up to date Strategic plan is needed so as to adjust the teaching learning in

response to a changing environment such as the universities mission, local,

regional, national and international need.

 SWOT analysis is the base line for preparation of this five
year strategic plan.
 Some of the components can be considered as enablers
while others are barriers for the achievement of the
university strategic plan over the next five years.
