• Ang Ladlad LGBT party vs Comelec GR 190582 April 8, 2010
• A political party in the Philippines that represents the rights of the lesbian,
bisexual, gay, and transgender community
• Applied for the registration with the respondent, the COMELEC in order to
participate in the 2010 elections
• COMELEC DENIED THE PARTY – IMMORAL AND AGAINST THE LAW
“Ang Ladlad”
• The court held that the COMELEC’S decision was based on “prejudice
and intolerance” and violated the party’s right to equal protection, free
expression, and due process
• The supreme court ruled in favor of the petitioner.

• Anti- bullying Act of 2013 ( R.A. 10627) – includes gender based
violence as a prohibited and punishable act
• “ any act that humiliates or excludes a person on the basis of perceived or actual
sexual orientation and gender identity.
• Child Protection Policy 2012 – bullying committed by a Principal, teacher or any other
school personnel, the law being violet is DePEd order NO. 40 on CPP.
• Protection of students from any form of violence regardless of their sexual orientation or
gender identity.

• Prohibits “derogatory and degrading remarks or innuendoes directed toward the members of
one’s sex, or one’s sexual orientation or used to describe a person”
