1. Introduction

 This is a solar tracking system which can be used as a
power generating method from sunlight.
 This method of power generation is simple and is taken
from natural resources.
 Solar tracker helps for power generation by setting the
equipment to get the maximum sunlight throughout the
year.
 When there is decerase in intisity of light, this system
automatically changes its direction to get the maximum
sunlight.
2. Literature Review

 Studies show that a solar panel converts 30-40% of energy
incident on it to electrical energy.
 The paucity of available resources has forced
contemporary society to look for measures to consummate
the demands of the latter.
 The scarcity of energy and its source guided us towards
the optimistic approach of using the alternative resources
bestowed to humankind–Solar, tidal etc.
3. Problem Definition

 Solar energy is a dilute source of energy.
 In India the cost and installation of the Solar system is quite
high as the production is very much less as compared to the
requirement.
 Major flaw of using solar energy is that its availability varies
widely with time and place.
 The variation in availability occurs daily because of the day
night cycle and also the seasonally because of the earth’s orbit
around the sun.
 Due to irradiance in temperature due to changing atmospheric
conditions.
4. Methodology

4 Nos of LDRs are used as the main light sensor
which sense the amount of sunlight falling on
them.
Two servo motors are fixed to the structure that
holds the solar panel.
The program for Arduino is uploaded to the
microcontroller.
If the right set of LDRs receive more light, the
servo moves in that direction.
4. Methodology

5. Advantages

 Solar Tracking system continually orient PV panels towards
the sun and can help maximize the investment on PV
system.
 One time investment which provides higher efficiency and
flexibility on dependency.
 Energy production is at an optimum and energy output is
increased year round.
 The positive socioeconomic benefits are that solar energy
projects increases regional or national energy independence.
 It enhances the clean and emission free power production.
6. Limitations

 Solar trackers are slightly more expensive than their
stationary counterparts, as they are regarded as complex
systems with moving parts.
 Trackers require more maintenance than fixed systems.
 Solar trackers are not conducive with snowy weather and
are only suited in hot climates. Contrast this with fixed
systems that are more weather friendly than tracking
systems.
7. Conclusion

 With global Warming constantly affecting the world in
numerous ways, it is essential we begin taking care of
nature in whatever way possible.
 Present day technologies stress on being clean and green.
 Being environmentally friendly, solar power generators
and panels are reasonably easy, safe and convenient to
install.
 Hence enhancing the solar powered systems with
intelligent trackers proves to be the optimal solution for
utilizing the available solar energy.
