Ethical communication is that which
does not unfairly label one thing or
another based on personal bias. So, in
addition to choosing “public housing”
over “the projects,” an ethical speaker
will choose terms that steer clear from
intentional bias.
What are the ethics in digital
communication?
The communicators should respect this bound- ary
and keep personal communication personal and
confidential communication confidential. At the end
of the day, each and every user bears responsibility
for protecting their own privacy and deciding which
information is made available on the internet or social
media.
Why is ethical language important in
communication?

Ethical communication is a philosophical

discipline that will help you to better use your
words, in the workplace or at home. Being clear,
direct, and honest in any aspect of your life is a
great way to make sure that misunderstandings
are minimal.
Need for ethical communication
Carefulness - In the digital world—as well as in
the analog world we inhabit—our
communication should be guided by carefulness.
Fair-mindedness – We live in a world of bias.
When we turn on the news, we are likely to hear
current events explained in a partisan and even a
polemical way.
Digital Ethics is a moral management
of the human implications of digital
developments. With ethics we
determine “the right” and “the wrong”
with a view to shared cultural value
systems and social agreeements.
What is the main focus of digital ethics?

While information ethics generally takes a critical

view of the use of information and information-
processing technologies, digital ethics focuses
specifically on the moral limits of digitization. The
main themes are the relationship between man and
machine and the standards of a society shaped by
digital technology.
How is ethics important in communication on
social media?
Ethics, by definition, is the concept of what is
good, bad, right and wrong. In social media, the
right ethic equals the right perspective and the
right thinking on how to leverage social media
appropriately and how to engage people in the
right manner. Etiquette is a code of behavior
within the context of our society.
How can individuals practice digital ethics in
their daily lives? Individuals can practice digital
ethics by being mindful of their online behavior
and how it affects others. This can include
avoiding cyberbullying, respecting other
people’s privacy, and being aware of the sources
of the information they share online.
