What is Peer Pressure?
◦ Peer pressure is the influence you feel from a person or group of people to
do something you might not otherwise consider doing.
◦ Peer pressure is influence that a peer group, observers or individual exerts
that encourages others to change their attitudes, values, or behaviors to
conform the group norms.
Who is Peer ?
Peer word came from a Latin word 'par' meaning EQUAL. In other words,

Factors of Peer Pressure
• Drugs- Peer pressure is widely recognized as a major contributor to the
initiation of drug use, particularly in adolescence.
• Smoking- Substance use is likely not attributed to peer pressure alone.
• Drinking- Though the impact of peer influence in adolescence has been
well established, it was unclear at what age this effect begins to diminish.
Tips to resist Peer Pressure
Stand Straight.
Make eye contact.
Say how you feel, Don’t bottle up your thoughts.
Don’t make excuses.
Believe in yourselves.
Think it through before you react.
