Psychological factors
Certain psychological traits, such as perfectionism and cognitive-
behavioral inflexibility, are associated with the risk of developing an
eating disorder. Specifically, the setting of high and unrealistic
expectations of oneself and the inability to adapt to unexpected
conditions.
