Правила вживання Present
Continuous
1. Дії, що відбуваються зараз
для вираження певної дії, що відбувається прямо
зараз, в момент говоріння
• I’m working and Ann is cooking now. – Я працюю зараз, а Енн займається приготуванням
їжі.

2. Найближчий часовий проміжок, але не саме зараз

для вираження тимчасової дії, що відбувається не в
даний момент часу, а загалом в найближчий часовий
проміжок – «around now» (приблизно в цей час).
• My brother is looking for a job these days. – Мій брат зараз шукає роботу. (Не факт, що він
зайнятий пошуками прямо зараз, але загалом, він шукає роботу)
3. Найближче майбутнє
для позначення домовленостей або дій, що мають чи не мають
відбутися в найближчому майбутньому. При цьому необхідно
вказувати час події.
• I am meeting some friends after work. – Я зустрічаюся з друзями після
школи.
• I am not going to the party tonight. – Я не йду на сьогоднішню
вечірку.
4. Негативне ставлення до дій, що повторюються
може використовуватися співрозмовником у випадках, коли він хоче
висловити своє негативне ставлення до дій, що повторюються у
теперішньому часі. При цьому характерним є використання слова
«always»
• She is always coming to class late. – Вона завжди запізнюється.
• He is constantly talking. - Він постійно розмовляє.
