Must be original, made by yourself, your own story. Fulbright committee will know if you plagiarize and copy from other works.

Make it very personal – so it is only you have the story

Make it so real based on your experiences, observation, and research

There must be “a red line” among what you did in the past, your current activities, and your future goal/plan. There must be a
connection among them

The study objective must show your commitment to your proposed field of study. The Fulbright committee will trace it from
your resume, related experiences, training, activities and any accomplishments

A clear study objective (WHAT – WHY – HOW)

Background and reason why do you want to study in the U.S.

Why do you choose your major? Mention your major and concentration that you want to take. Be specific with your
reasons, example:
• Mention specific courses which are relevant with your goals
• Mention academic advisor/professor (if any) which their research is align with your interest

Do a research about your major, choose some universities that suitable with your study objective. Pick one of them
and mention it in your study objective. Be specific with your reason.

Explain your future goals/plan after completion of your study. What your contribution to Indonesia after graduation
