PREPOSITION
• Prepositions indicate direction, time, location, and
spatial relationships, as well as other abstract
types of relationships.
Preposition of Direction:
• Prepositions of direction show
where or in which
direction something moves.

• Some examples are to, on, onto,


in, into, towards, through, etc. are
used to describe the direction.
Example:
The mice run into
the box when it
saw the cat.

The frog jump on


to the box and sing
a happy song.
Example:
The flock if birds are
flying towards the
box.

The snake go
through the pipe to
look for its prey.
Preposition of Place
• A preposition of place is a preposition which is used
to refer to a place where something or someone is
located.
• There are only three prepositions of place, which is

in, on, at,


Example:
The bird is in the cage. The cake is on the table.
Preposition of Time
• A preposition of time is a preposition that
allows you to discuss a specific time period
such as a date on the calendar, one of the days
of the week, or the actual time something
takes place.
• Prepositions of time are the same words as
prepositions of place, however they are used
in a different way.
Preposition of time
• At

very specific time frames including exceptions, such
as “at night.”

Example:
Teena takes nap at 3p.m everyday.
