Summary

 A young orphan boy named Nilkanta is rescued by a wealthy couple, Kiran and
Sharat, after his boat capsizes in a storm.
 Nilkanta really likes Kiran because she is nice to him and lets him do
whatever he wants. Nilkanta is a bit naughty, likes to go against rules, and does
things without thinking too much.
 Kiran tries to teach him and turn him into a good man, but he doesn't want to
listen to her. Instead, he likes saying lines from his acting group and smoking
Sharat's hookah.
 Sharat and his mom don't like Nilkanta much. They often punish him for
being naughty. The only reason they put up with him is because of Kiran.
 When Kiran's brother-in-law, Satish, comes to visit, Nilkanta feels left out
and a bit jealous. To get attention, he does something sneaky by taking Satish's
special inkstand and hiding it in his own box.
Kiran discovers his
theft and confronts him.
He runs away in shame
and is never seen again.
Kiran feels sorry for him
and hopes
to find him again.
