Aerophones
The history, culture, tradition, and beliefs of
the people in Thailand
Thailand formerly known as Siam, is
known for being the sole nation in
Southeast Asia that has never been ruled
by Western power. It is for this reason
that the country is also called
“MuangThai” or “Land of the Free”
because it is not colonized.
Thai music is blending of musical elements
from a number of cultures, such a Chinese,
Khmer( Cambodia music), and Indian,
Myanmar(Burma), Laos, and Malaysia.
Thai Folk Song:
CHAANG
CHAANG
It is a Thai folk song for children.
Chaang means elephant in Thai. Elephants have been
important to the people of Thailand for thousands of
years as beasts of burden, for transportation, in warfare,
and in cultural ceremonies. The love and respect Thai
people have for elephants is deeply embedded in the
culture and history of Thailand.

is an orchestra that combine
