• Discussion-based course.
• At least twice per class session. There will be activities to fulfill
this.
• Respectful and constructive towards everyone in the classroom.
• Miss up to 3 class sessions.
• In class: Preparation and Apuntes semanales.
Presentación grupal (10%)
• One presentation per semester.
• Groups of max. 3 people
• Not a mere summary
• Brief and analytical comment
• 10-15min.
• Course schedule.
• Prompt:
• Author's Bio
• Historical context
• 2-3 important topics of the reading/movie and how does the author approaches
• A short personal impression
• At least 5 questions for the class discussion (No superficial like 'yes or no' questions. "What questions-reflections do
the reading/movie shed lights on?"
Apuntes semanales (30%) (10)
• Start by reading the material thoroughly and taking notes
• Ask yourself questions: As you read
• Connect the material to your own experiences
• Write down your thoughts: What you learned from it and what you find interesting or
surprising.
• Organize your thoughts. Main points + your own thoughts.
• Write, by going back
• Conclude: Where can this reflection go?
Remember that a critical reflection is an opportunity to think deeply about what you
have read, and to express your own thoughts and insights about it. The goal is not to
summarize the material, but to engage with it ina a meaningful way.

Propuesta (15%)
• DUE DATE: NOVEMBER 21, 2023 (11:59PM)
• 2-3 PGS. General Topic, Possible title, general questions, and possible bibliography
Última entrega (25%)
• 5-10pgs. Essay
• Prompt:
• Intro: What is your essat about, and how are you going to discuss it? Provide background and key concepts
reflected on your essay.
• Discussion: Provide a short historical context, highlight the importance of this context, articulate the
topic/reading/movies with the key concepts, and what is the perspective or argument that you are bringing to the
discussion.
• Conclusion: Highlight the main points discussed in the essay, provide a final thought on the importance of the
essay's discussion, and give possible continuities to your work.
