TUJUAN PEMBELAJARAN

 Mengidentifikasi fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur


kebahasaan teks interaksi transaksional terkait saran dan tawaran
sesuai konteks penggunaannya

TUJUAN PEMBELAJARAN

 Mengidentifikasi fungsi sosial, struktur teks dan unsur


kebahasaan dari teks interaksi lisan dan tulis yang melibatkan
tindakan memberi dan meminta informasi terkait pendapat dan
pikiran.
 Menerapkan fungsi sosial, struktur teks dan unsur kebahasaan dari
teks interaksi lisan dan tulis yang melibatkan tindakan memberi
dan meminta informasi terkait pendapat dan pikiran.
Recommendation, Suggestion, and Advice
A recommendation is a statement (1) that someone who is suggested would be the
best choice for a certain position or job, (2) that something is the best thing to do.
e.g. I recommend that Mr. Barnes is the right man for the director position in this company.

A suggestion is an idea or a notion that is proposed by someone. A suggestion


signifies that the notion may be accepted or rejected.
e.g. I don’t know what to wear for the prom night party. Do you have any suggestions?
An advice is someone's perspective on what you should do or how you should behave
in a certain circumstance.
e.g. Since you don’t have enough cash, my advice is to sell your car and pay your debts.

 All students will work in a group of three to five


members, and the group will act as one country likewise
in a Model United Nations forum.

 The group members must browse and search any


information related to the given topic. (Reading)
 Each group then must speak and share the information
about the country. (Speaking)

 The group shall deliver some information of the positive and


negative condition of the country. At least five information of
each. (Speaking and Listening)
 Then, the other groups should respond the info by giving
opinions or thought, suggestions/recommendations/advices
and offers, depending on the countries' situation. (Listening
and Writing)

of:
1. giving info about the positive (5) and negative (5) conditions
2. giving opinion or thought (5)
3. giving suggestions/recommendations/advices (5)

Making Suggestions

To suggest means to introduce or to propose an idea or a


plan for someone’s consideration. It can be in the form of
a solution, advice, plan, and an idea. It can be accepted
or refused.
Making Suggestions
Here are some common phrases used to make suggestions:
1. How about + subject + verb + object . . . How about we have lunch at the new
Japanese restaurant?

2. How about + gerund . . . How about having lunch at the new


Japanese restaurant?

3. What about + gerund . . . What about playing table tennis after


school?

4. Why don’t + subject + + verb + Why don’t we take a walk to the park?

Making Suggestions
Here are some common phrases used to make suggestions:
6. Let’s + verb + object . . . Let’s go to the beach this weekend.

7. Shall + subject + verb + object . . . Shall we tell her the good news now?
(with the subjects I and We)

8. Subject + should + verb + object . . . You should give her a present on her
birthday.
9. Subject + could + verb + object . . . We could share a ride to the airport.

10. I suggest/ recommend + that I suggest that you take driving course.

Making Offers
To offer means that you would like to
do or to give something for someone, to
provide product, service, etc. Offers can
be in terms of money, food, friendship,
solution, or a bargain. It can be
accepted or refused.
Here are some common phrases used to make offers. You can use modal verbs such as
can, would, shall.

Asking for Opinion

Asking people’s opinion and then


linking to others’ statement/opinion is
one technique or strategy you can
keep the conversation interesting and
lively. In that way, the other person
does not want to leave you quickly.

Giving Opinions

 An opinion is the way you feel or think about something. Our opinion about
something or someone is based on our perspective. Whenever we give or
express our opinion, it is important to give reasoning or an example to support
our opinion.
