• Every group should review the
materials and explain them to the
class. Each group will focus on 3 or 4
topics based on the questions in the
English pre test.
• Explain the materials along with the
examples and some exercises.
Review of English Materials
• A phrase is a group of two or more words functioning as a meaningful unit within a
sentence or clause.
My + unique + chair = my unique chair (noun phrase) as subject or object
the + English + pre test = the English pre test (noun phrase) as subject or object
must + do = must do (verb phrase) as predicate
• Subordinate clause is a smaller part of a sentence that contains Subject + Verb/
Predicate, it’s a dependent clause to support its main clause.
The teachers gave the pre test, because they should know the capability of the students.
• An adjective is a word that describes a noun or noun phrase.

• Adverb : a word that modifies (describes) a verb; modifier of
verb; kata keterangan; now, a year ago, in the room
• Irregular past verb; verbs that do not follow the normal
patterns for tense and past participle. Kata kerja tidak
beraturan bentuk lampau; swam, met, ran
• Action verb is a verb that expresses something that a
person, animal, object, or process in nature (such as a
storm) can do rather than expressing a state of being. E.g.
move, run, jump, write, swim

• Pronoun is a word that is used instead of a noun or noun
phrase.

• Generic structure of descriptive text = identification,
descriptions
• Recount text : to retell the series of past events

• Simple Present tense : We do the English pre-test once a
semester.
• Past Continuous tense : We were doing the English pre-test
within 30 minutes.
• Present Perfect : We have done the English pre test recently.
• Auxiliary verb a type of verb that takes a supportive role in
a sentence, second to the main verb; a helping verb; kata
kerja bantu; will, is, has, should, has to

• Conjunction : a part of speech/ word to connect words, clauses or
sentences; because, if, thus, although
• Should : We should do the English pre test now.
• Have to : We have to do the English pre test now. Weni has to do the
English pre test now.
• Is going to : We are going to do the English pre test next week.
• Generic structure of narrative: orientation-complication-resolution
• Generic structure of procedure text : goal, materials, steps
• Passive voice: The English pre test was done by the students

• Indirect speech: Mr. Anton said that the students have
finished the English pre test.
• Present Continuous tense: The students are doing the
English pre test.
• Future tense: The students will do the English pre test
tomorrow.
• Preposition : a word or group of words used before a

time, place, location, spatial relationships, or to
